Olivet College’s Deweyert earns WGCA All-Region honors
Olivet College senior Nicole Deweyert has been named to the 2019-20 Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-Great Lakes Region team.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College senior Nicole Deweyert has been named to the 2019-20 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-Great Lakes Region team.
Deweyert earned 2019 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) First Team honors after posting the league's third-best stroke average at 79.5 over the six MIAA rounds. Overall in 13 total rounds during the fall, she had 79.2 stroke average. Deweyert's low round of the season was a MIAA course record 72 on Oct. 2 at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.
"This honor for Nicole is well-deserved," said Olivet head coach Bill Maas. "She was not only a great student but she was also great golfer for Olivet College for four years. This honor is a great way to cap her career."
The WGCA selects the top 12 golfers from each of its five regions. Joining Deweyert in the Great Lakes Region are Anna Foley, DePauw (Ind.) University; Jackie Garcia and Melanie Wolf, Illinois Wesleyan University; Marin Halvorsen, Wheaton (Ill.) College; Hunter Kehoe, Saint Mary's (Ind.) College; Namuunaa Nadmid, Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology; Adrienne Rohwedder, Carthage (Wis.) College; and Charlotte Simpson, Alexis Sudjianto and Nadia Susanto, Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) University.
Deweyert ends an Olivet career on the golf course. She is a four-time All-MIAA selection, earning First Team honors in 2017 and 2019, and Second Team honors in 2016 and 2018. Deweyert finishes her career as Olivet's career stroke average leader at 81.5 strokes over 70 career rounds. That average includes a 78.6 stroke over 23 league rounds.
