Women’s golf team earns WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Award
The Olivet College women’s golf team posted the 17th-best cumulative grade point average among NCAA Division III programs for the 2017-18 academic year. As a result, the Comets earned Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-Scholar Team honors.
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Olivet College women's golf team posted the 17th-best cumulative grade point average among NCAA Division III programs for the 2017-18 academic year. As a result, the Comets earned Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-Scholar Team honors.
Under the leadership of head coach Bill Maas, Olivet recorded a team GPA of 3.547 during the academic year. Joining them on the list was fellow Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) member Saint Mary's (Ind.) College. Individually, three Comets earned WGCA All-American Scholar Team honors.
The top 25 teams from Division I, II, and III in terms of cumulative GPA for the 2017-18 academic year were recognized by the WGCA for their academic success. It is the first year the association has bestowed honors upon the top 25 team from each division as the top 25 overall from all divisions combined previously vied for All-Scholar Team distinction.
