CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Olivet College women's golfers Nicole Deweyert, Taylor Elley and Crystal Lettinga have been named to the 2017-18 Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team.
The criteria for selection are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The student-athlete must have a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average (GPA) and she must have also competed in 66 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds. The trio was among the 1,011 women's collegiate golfers to be named to the team.
Deweyert and Elley have earned the honor for a second straight year, while Lettinga is on the team for the first time. All three golfers are expected to return to the Comets' lineup in 2018-19. Deweyert is a two-time All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) selection. She has an 82.1 career stroke average over 39 rounds. Elley has averaged 90.3 strokes in 40 career rounds. In her rookie season, Lettinga posted an 88.4 stroke average in 19 rounds.
