Women’s golf team places second at MIAA NCAA Playoff #1
The Olivet College women’s golf team placed second at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) NCAA Playoff Round #1, played today at the Ravines Golf Course in Saugatuck.

SAUGATUCK, Mich. – The Olivet College women's golf team placed second at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) NCAA Playoff Round #1, played today at the Ravines Golf Course in Saugatuck.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Comets carded a 338 team score to finish 20 strokes behind Saint Mary's (Ind.) College. Hope College was third at 340, followed by Alma College in fourth-place at 360.
- Taylor Kehoe from Saint Mary's was the individual medalist with a four-over par 76.
FOR THE COMETS
- Freshman Crystal Lettinga led Olivet with an 83, including a 40 on the front nine. The 83 placed her fifth in the player standings.
- Junior Hayley Cooper and sophomores Nicole Deweyert and Taylor Elley all shot matching 85s. Deweyert had a 43 on the front nine and 42 on the back nine. Cooper and Elley had the reverse with 42 on the front nine and 43 on the back nine.
UP NEXT
- Saint Mary's hosts the second and third rounds of the playoff next Friday and Saturday, April 27-28 at the Knollwood Country Club in Granger, Indiana. The school with the lowest cumulative total after the 54 holes earns the MIAA's automatic bid to the 2018 NCAA Division III Championships.
