CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Five Olivet College women's golfers – Hayley Cooper, Nicole Deweyert, Taylor Elley, Ashley Folleth and Molly Morey – have been named to the 2016-17 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team.
The criteria for selection are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The student-athlete must have a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average (GPA) and she must have also competed in 66 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds.
All five golfers are expected to return to the Comets' lineup for the 2017-18 season. Deweyert and Folleth earned second-team All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) honors in 2016-17. Deweyert was second on the team with an 81.9 stroke average in 20 rounds during her first season in a Comet uniform. Folleth was not far behind at 83.4.
