ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Olivet College women's golf team placed 14th at the 2017 Washington University Spring Invitational held at the Norman Probstein Golf Course in St. Louis, Missouri.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Comets posted a two-round total of 695 strokes, with a 350 on day one and 345 on day two.
  • Rhodes (Tenn.) College won the team title by 27 strokes over runner-up Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) College, 597-624.
  • Emily Salamy from Rhodes was the tournament medalist with a 148 (72-76).

FOR THE COMETS

  • Senior Laura Bacso completed her two rounds in 157 total strokes, including a 76 in Saturday's first round. She had two birdies on the front nine.
  • After shooting an 85 in the first round, freshman Ashley Folleth improved by nine strokes with a career-best 76 in today's second round for a two-day total of 161 strokes. Her 76 included 13 pars, four bogeys and a double bogey.
  • Freshman Taylor Elley carded a two-round score of 181 strokes.
  • Sophomore Hayley Cooper had a two-day total of 196 strokes.
  • Freshman Molly Morey played as an individual and shot a two-round total 188 strokes, including an 85 in today's round.
