Women’s golf team finishes third at MIAA Playoff #3, places third overall
The Olivet College women’s golf team finished in third-place in the 54-hole Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) playoff. In today’s final 18 holes at the Ravines Golf Course in Saugatuck, the Comets had a 344 team score to also finish in third-place.
SAUGATUCK, Mich. – The Olivet College women's golf team finished in third-place in the 54-hole Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) playoff. In today's final 18 holes at the Ravines Golf Course in Saugatuck, the Comets had a 344 team score to also finish in third-place.
Saint Mary's (Ind.) College won today's round with a 320. Hope College was five strokes behind at 325. Olivet was two strokes ahead of Trine (Ind.) University.
Senior Casey Lamp topped the Comets with an 83 (41-42). Junior Laura Bacso was next with an 85 (41-44), followed by senior Brooke Kastamo at 86 (45-41). Playing in the starting five for the first time this season, freshman Rachel Stoneburner carded a 90 (45-45). Senior Kirstin Langer completed her final collegiate round in 94 (47-47) strokes.
Hope totaled 962 strokes over the 54-hole playoff to receive the MIAA's automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Division National Championships May 10-13 at the Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas.
