Women’s golf team sits in fifth-place after day one of Westbrook Invitational
The Olivet College women’s golf team carded a 316 team score to sit in fifth-place after day one of the George Fox Westbrook Invitational, held at the Westbrook Village Golf Club and Lakes Course in Peoria, Arizona.
PEORIA, Ariz. – The Olivet College women's golf team carded a 316 team score to sit in fifth-place after day one of the George Fox Westbrook Invitational, held at the Westbrook Village Golf Club and Lakes Course in Peoria, Arizona.
Senior Casey Lamp is tied for fourth-place in the player standings with a two-over par 73. During her round, she made three birdies, including on back-to-back holes (15 and 16), 11 pars, three bogeys and one double bogey. Senior Brooke Kastamo shot a seven-over par 78. Her round featured 12 pars, five bogeys and one double bogey.
Senior Kirstin Langer finished her round in 82 strokes. Junior Laura Bacso was next with an 83. Freshman Hayley Cooper posted an 89. Freshman Rachel Stoneburner played as an individual scorer and completed her round in 98 strokes.
The host Bruins top the eight-team field with a 297. The University of Texas at Tyler and University of Redlands (Calif.) share second-place with 301s. Trinity (Texas) University is fourth at 313.
The second and final round will get under way tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. MST
NOTES: Lamp's 73 ties for the sixth-best, 18-hole individual score in school history. Olivet's 316 team score was a season-best.
