Women’s golf team is runner-up at MIAA Jamboree #1
Playing on its home course, The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, the Olivet College women’s golf placed second at the first MIAA jamboree for the 2015 season.
MARSHALL, Mich. – Playing on its home course, The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, the Olivet College women's golf placed second at the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) jamboree for the 2015 season.
The Comets shot a 340 team score. Defending MIAA champion Hope claimed the top spot with a 317 team score. Trine (Ind.) was third at 345 and Saint Mary's (Ind.) was fourth at 346. Albion and Alma shared fifth-place with 357s. Calvin finished seventh at 362 and Adrian was eighth at 378.
Senior Brooke Kastamo finished fifth in the player standings with an 80. Junior Laura Bacso carded an 86. Senior Casey Lamp and freshman Hayley Cooper both had an 87. Senior Kirstin Langer completed her round in 94 strokes. Freshman Ashley Potter was an individual scorer and finished with a 95.
The next jamboree is Saturday at Milham Park Golf Course in Kalamazoo.
