Women’s golf team ties for ninth at Dan Quayle Classic
The Olivet College women’s golf team tied for ninth-place at the 2015 DePauw University/Dan Quayle Collegiate Golf Classic at the Deer Creek Golf Course in Clayton, Indiana.
CLAYTON, Ind. – The Olivet College women's golf team tied for ninth-place at the 2015 DePauw University/Dan Quayle Collegiate Golf Classic at the Deer Creek Golf Course in Clayton, Indiana.
The Comets finished with two-day, 36-hole score 691 strokes. After shooting a 352 in Saturday's first round, Olivet improved by 13 strokes in today's second round with a 339. Wittenberg (Ohio) University led the 14-team field with a 622 (310-312).
Senior Casey Lamp posted the Comets' best two-round score with a 163 (81-82). Senior Brooke Kastamo was not too far behind with a 167 (84-83). Senior Kirstin Langer had the best second-day improvement, as she shot a 92 in the first round and followed that with an 84 today for a 176. Freshman Hayley Cooper completed her two rounds in 185 (95-90) total strokes.
Olivet now turns its attention to the six rounds of Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play. The Comets host the first round Wednesday afternoon at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, starting at 1 p.m.
