Women’s golf team finishes in second-place at Kyle Campbell Classic

MARSHALL, Mich. – Senior Casey Lamp earned a spot on the all-tournament team to help the Olivet College women's golf team finish in second-place at the Kyle Campbell Classic at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.
The Comets had a two-day, 36-hole score of 676 strokes. Their 337 team score in today's round tied for the best score of the day. Hope College led the 13-team field with a 667. The rest of the top five teams were North Central (Ill.) College, 685; University of Saint Francis (Ind.), 692; and Wheaton (Ill.) College, 704. Madeline Bond from Wheaton was the medalist with a 155 (79-76).
Lamp had a two-day total of 162 (82-80) strokes to tie Nicole Meyer from Hope for fourth-place in the player standings. Senior Brooke Kastamo shared ninth-place with a 170 (84-86). Junior Laura Bacso had a 171 (89-82), while senior Kirstin Langer carded a 173 (84-89). Freshman Ashley Potter finished her two rounds in 193 (93-100) strokes. Freshman Hayley Cooper was an individual scorer with a 189 (93-96).
Olivet returns to the links next Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 19-20, at the DePauw University/Dan Quayle Collegiate Golf Classic. The tournament is at the Deer Creek Golf Course in Clayton, Indiana.
