MARSHALL, Mich. – The Olivet College women's golf team sits in second-place after day one of the Kyle Campbell Classic at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.
The Comets posted a 339 team score and are one stroke ahead of third-place North Central (Ill.) College. Hope College leads the 13-team field with a 328. Nicole Meyer from Hope had the top individual score in today's first round with a four-over par 76.
For Olivet, senior Casey Lamp carded a 76 to share sixth-place in the player standings. Seniors Brooke Kastamo and Kirstin Langer both finished their round in 82 strokes apiece. Junior Laura Bacso was next at 89, followed by freshman Ashley Potter at 93. Freshman Hayley Cooper was an individual scorer and also shot a 93.
Tomorrow's second round gets under way at 8:30 a.m.
