Women’s golfers finish in fifth-place at Labor Day Tee-Off Tournament
The Olivet College women’s golf team posted a two-round score of 699 strokes to place fifth at the 2015 O.C. Labor Day Tee-Off Tournament today at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.
MARSHALL, Mich. – The Olivet College women's golf team posted a two-round score of 699 strokes to place fifth at the 2015 O.C. Labor Day Tee-Off Tournament today at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.
After shooting a 357 team in Saturday's first round, the Comets lowered their score by 15 strokes today for a 342. Washington University-St. Louis (Mo.) had four of the top five golfers in the player standings to win by 29 strokes over DePauw (Ind.) University, 629 (306-311)-646 (329-317). Illinois Wesleyan University was third at 672 (337-335), followed by Saint Mary's (Ind.) College at 696 (343-353). Chloe DePetrillo from WashU was the medalist with a 148.
Senior Casey Lamp finished in eighth-place in the player standings with a 162. In today's round, she and DePetrillo tied for the lowest round with 75s. Junior Laura Bacso shared 20th-place with another golfer with a 173 (87-86). Olivet's remaining three golfers were each separated by two strokes. Senior Kirstin Langer had a 183 (92-91), followed by freshmen Hayley Cooper and Ashley Potter at 185 (91-94) and 187 (97-90), respectively.
Olivet hosts the Kyle Campbell Classic this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 11-12. The tournament has a 2 p.m. shotgun start on Friday and 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
