Women’s golf: Comets finish in second-place at MIAA NCAA Qualifier
The Olivet College women’s golf team finished in second-place in the third and final round of the MIAA NCAA Automatic Qualifying Tournament today at The Ravines Golf Course in Saugatuck.
SAUGATUCK, Mich. – The Olivet College women's golf team finished in second-place in the third and final round of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) NCAA Automatic Qualifying Tournament today at The Ravines Golf Course in Saugatuck.
The Comets carded a 336 team score to finish 17 strokes behind Hope College. The performance also helped the Flying Dutch win the 54-hole playoff by only 15 strokes, 973-988, and receive the MIAA's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division III National Championships in May.
Junior Casey Lamp had back-to-back 39s on the front and back nines for a 78. Junior Brooke Kastamo shot an 81. Sophomore Laura Bacso was next with an 87, followed by sophomore Allyson Schultz, 90; and junior Kirstin Langer, 96.
