CLAYTON, Ind. – The Olivet College women's golf team is in 12th-place after the first round of the DePauw (Ind.) University Small College Classic at the Deer Creek Golf Course in Clayton, Ind.
The Comets finished the day with a 356 team score to sit four strokes behind 11th-place North Central (Ill.) College and four strokes ahead of conference rival Saint Mary's (Ind.) College. Wittenberg (Ohio) University and Washington University-St. Louis (Mo.) share the first-round lead with 323s.
Junior Brooke Kastamo shot an 85 to lead Olivet. Junior Casey Lamp carded an 89. Sophomore Laura Bacso and freshman Kyla Kurczewski both have a 91. Junior Kirstin Langer rounded out the Comet lineup with a 96.
Tomorrow's second round gets underway at 8:30 a.m.
