Women’s golf: Lamp earns medalist honors, Olivet wins own invitational

MARSHALL, Mich. – Junior Casey Lamp earned medalist honors to lead the Olivet College women's golf team to a one-stroke win at its own invitational, played at the Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.
The Comets edged Hope College, 664-665. Carthage (Wis.) College was one more stroke behind at 666, followed by Wheaton (Ill.) College at 670 and Illinois Wesleyan University at 673.
Lamp carded a two-round score of 155 strokes (79-76). Junior Brooke Kastamo was fourth in the individual player standings with a 160 (77-83). Sophomore Laura Bacso finished with a 171 (81-90).
Junior Kirstin Langer and freshman Kyla Kurczewski were separated by one stroke at 178 (85-93) and 179 (86-93), respectively. Sophomore Allyson Schultz was as an individual scorer and posted a 187 (94-93).
Olivet is idle until Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 20-21, when it travels to Greencastle, Ind., to play in the DePauw University Small College at the Deer Creek Golf Club.
