Women’s golf: First round of O.C. Fall Invitational suspended
The first round of the 2014 Olivet College Fall Women’s Golf Invitational at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall was suspended due to lightning and thunderstorms.
MARSHALL, Mich. – The first round of the 2014 Olivet College Fall Women's Golf Invitational at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall was suspended due to lightning and thunderstorms. At approximately 6 p.m., the players were pulled off the course. Twelve golfers had completed their round, with the remaining golfers having either one or two holes to complete.
Four Comets had finished their rounds. Junior Brooke Kastamo carded a 77, followed by junior Casey Lamp, 79; sophomore Laura Bacso, 81; and junior Kirstin Langer, 85. Kastamo's 77 and Bacso's 81 were both career-best rounds. Freshman Kyla Kurczewski was on her final hole, and her ball was on the green.
The first round will be completed tomorrow morning, starting at 7:30 a.m. The second round will commence shortly after all the golfers finish their first round.
