MARSHALL, Mich. – The Olivet College women's golf team is in second-place after day one of the 2014 Labor Day Tee-Off Tournament at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall. Tomorrow's second round features a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
The Comets recorded a 338 team score to sit 28 strokes behind Washington University-St. Louis. Olivet is 12 strokes ahead of third-place Saint Mary's (Ind.) College. Adrian College sits fourth at 365, followed Franklin (Ind.) College, 367; and Manchester (Ind.) University, 443.
Junior Brooke Kastamo is tied fourth-place in the player standings with a seven over par 79. Junior Casey Lamp shares 10th in the standings with an 83. Sophomore Laura Bacso carded an 86. In her collegiate debut, freshman Kyla Kurczewski completed her round in 90 strokes.
Junior Kirstin Langer needed 95 strokes to finish her round. Sophomore Allyson Schultz played as an individual scorer and shot an 89.
