Bio

Casey Rost-Danzy is in her first season as an assistant women's basketball coach at Olivet College in 2018-19.

Prior to joining Olivet's staff, Rost-Danzy served as the head varsity girls’ basketball coach at Kalamazoo Loy Norrix for three seasons, and was the Knight’s freshman coach for the three years before that. She has over 17 years of coaching experience ranging from youth to college-aged athletes.

A native of St. Johns, Rost-Danzy earned a bachelor's degree in general studies from Western Michigan University in 2006. While there, she played on the women’s basketball team from 2002-06. Rost-Danzy led the Broncos to the 2003 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tournament Championship and was named the MAC Tournament MVP.  She was the program’s first-ever MAC Player of the Year in 2004 and Freshman of the Year in 2002.

Overall, Rost-Danzy was a First Team All-MAC selection three times, WMU’s only two-time Kodak Honorable Mention All-American, the fastest player in school history to score 1,000 points (59 games), and first player, male or female, to reach 2000 points. She still holds all records for three-point field goals and free throws. Rost-Danzy's accomplishments led her to being voted the Most Inspirational Women’s Basketball Player in WMU history, and being inducted into the WMU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017.

Upon graduation, Rost-Danzy played four years professionally in Cyprus, Iceland, Luxembourg, and Switzerland.

She and her husband, Lance, reside in Kalamazoo with their two children, Lance Jr. and Zayah.
