Women’s Basketball: Olivet falls 75-52 at Albion

ALBION, Mich. – The University of Olivet women's basketball team suffered a 75-52 loss to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College tonight at Kresge Gymnasium.

- Records: Olivet 5-9 overall, 2-3 MIAA; Albion 8-6 overall, 2-3 MIAA
- The Britons and Comets traded the first four baskets of the game to create tied scores at 2-2 and 4-4. Albion ended the quarter by scoring 16 of the final 20 points for a 20-8 lead at the start of the second quarter. Olivet cut its deficit to 10 points early in the second quarter, but the Britons held a 37-18 halftime lead at halftime.
- In the third quarter, the Comets battled back to make the score 45-35 at the 4:48 mark. Albion netted 13 of the last 18 points of the period to gain an 18-point cushion, 58-40, at the beginning of the fourth stanza. Olivet did not draw any closer for the rest of the game.
- Freshman Kaylee Bush led Olivet with nine points, including 6-of-7 shooting from the free throw line.
- Sophomore Kinsley Hatfield contributed seven points.
- Senior Lily Connelly scored six points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out two assists and made two steals.
- The Comets are off until next Wednesday, January 10, when they travel to play Saint Mary's (Ind.) College. Tip-off from the Angela Athletic Center is scheduled for 7 p.m.
