Women’s Basketball: Olivet downed by Wooster, 81-58

WOOSTER, Ohio – The University of Olivet women's basketball team fell to the College of Wooster (Ohio), 81-58, in a non-conference contest tonight at Timken Gymnasium.

- The Scots led 11-0 before the Comets dented the first time when senior Madison Bailey made a three-pointer. Wooster increased its lead to 14 points twice, including 28-14 at the end of the first quarter.
- The second quarter saw the Scots score the first 10 points to go up 38-14 at the 7:39 mark. Olivet scored its first basket of the quarter with 6:01 left when freshman Savannah Brewer drained a three-pointer. Wooster held a 47-23 lead at halftime.
- In the third quarter, the Scots stretched their lead to as many as 32 points, 69-37, at the 1:22 mark. The Comets tallied the last five points of the period to trail by 27 points, 69-42, at the start of the fourth quarter. The closest Olivet would get in the final quarter was 22 points, 74-52, with 4:06 left in the game.
- Brewer topped Olivet with 14 points.
- Freshman Kaylee Bush added eight points.
- Freshman Anna Honnen grabbed a team-best six rebounds.
- Senior Lily Connelly recorded four assists.
- Olivet plays three games in four days, starting Saturday when it hosts Adrian College for a conference contest, starting at 1 p.m.
