Women’s Basketball: Olivet drops 79-65 decision to St. Norbert, Connelly named to All-Tournament

DE PERE, Wis. – The University of Olivet women's basketball team was on the losing end of a 79-65 final to St. Norbert (Wis.) College on the second day of the Nicolet National Bank Tip-Off Tournament and at the Mulva Family Fitness & Sport Center. Senior Lily Connelly was selected to the All-Tournament Team.

- The Green Giants opened the game with a 22-10 lead in the first eight minutes. St. Norbert settled for a 25-16 lead after the first quarter.
- The Comets started the second quarter on an 11-2 run to tie the game at 27-27 with 4:10 left until halftime. Five quick points gave the lead back to the Green Giants. St. Norbert held a 41-36 lead at halftime.
- Olivet closed the gap to three points, 48-45, at the 6:16 mark of the third quarter. A 7-0 Green Giant run pushed their lead back to double digits. Twice, the Comets cut their deficit down to eight points. After the second time at 57-49, St. Norbert scored the last six points of the quarter to go ahead 63-49 at the start of the fourth period.
- The Green Giants maintained a double-digit lead for the rest of the game.
- Connelly paced Olivet with 19 points, six rebounds and four assists.
- Freshman Kaylee Bush joined her in double figures with 12 points. She grabbed eight rebounds.
- Junior Clara Shoales filled the stat sheet with six points, eight rebounds, three blocks and three steals.
- The Comets are off until Wednesday, Nov. 29, when they begin Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play with a home game against Alma College. Tip-off from the Cutler Event Center is 7 p.m.
