Women’s basketball team upended by Adrian, 91-67
The Olivet College women’s basketball team suffered a 91-67 loss to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Adrian College this afternoon at the Merillat Sports & Fitness Center.

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Olivet College women's basketball team suffered a 91-67 loss to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Adrian College this afternoon at the Merillat Sports & Fitness Center.

- The Bulldogs raced out to a 7-2 lead at the 7:28 mark of the opening quarter. The Comets came back with a 9-0 run to gain an 11-7 advantage with 4:50 remaining in the first stanza. Adrian fought back to level the score three times. After the last time at 17-17, Rachel Bucher made a layup to put the Bulldogs ahead at the end of the quarter.
- After freshman Hannah Brown made a three-pointer to hand the lead back to Olivet nine seconds into the second quarter, Chelsea Palmer drained a jump shot to give the lead back to Adrian 13 seconds later. The Bulldogs did not relinquish the lead for the rest of the quarter, leading by as many as 13 points on two occasions. Adrian led by 10 points, 40-30, at halftime.
- In the third quarter, the Bulldogs doubled their advantage to 20 points. Adrian took a 19-point lead, 67-48, at the start of the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs' largest lead in the game was 28 points.
- Junior DeeDee Post led Olivet with 20 points.
- Brown finished with 15 points.
- Freshman Zara Weber added 13 points.
- Senior Amari Brown contributed 11 points.
- Amari Brown, senior Jazmin Hildebrand and freshman Rachel Swartz each grabbed seven rebounds.
- Rylee Campbell scored a team-best 20 points.
- Addison Bergman had 19 points.
- Alivia Kondrath and Chelsea Palmer tallied 15 points apiece.
- Sha'Trice Graves pulled down a game-high eight rebounds.
- The Comets are off until next Saturday, Jan. 25, when they host Hope College at 3 p.m.
