OLIVET, Mich. – Playing a home game for the first time this season, the Olivet College women's basketball team dropped a 91-75 decision to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival tonight at The Cutler Event Center in Olivet.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first quarter, there were five lead changes and one tied score. The Britons led 19-11 at the end of the opening stanza.
- Albion scored the first basket of the second quarter to take a 21-11 lead. Over the next five minutes and 25 seconds, the Comets went on a 12-0 run to take a 23-21 lead. Freshman Sydnee Dennis scored eight of the 12 points during the run. The teams traded 5-0 runs to make the score 28-26 at the 3:09 mark. In the final 3:09 of the second period, there were four tied scores, including 35-35 at halftime.
- The Britons made the first two baskets of the third quarter before senior Kadesha Taylor made a layup and pair of free throws to level the score one more time 39-39. Albion took the lead on a layup but Taylor tied the game on two more tosses from the charity stripe. Dennis put Olivet ahead 43-41 with a jump shot. After Albion split two free throws, an offensive rebound and put-back basket by freshman Grace White made the score 45-42.
- The Britons scored 18 of the next 23 points to take their largest lead of the game, 62-50, with 1:25 left in the third quarter. Olivet put five of the last seven points on the scoreboard in the third period to trail by nine, 64-55, entering the last quarter.
- Albion stretched its lead to as many as 18 points, 78-60, around the midway point of the fourth quarter. The closest the Comets got was 11 points, 81-70, with 4:01 remaining in the contest.
FOR THE COMETS
- For the second straight game, Dennis scored a team-leading 21 points. She made 7-of-14 baskets, including 5-of-10 three-pointers, and two free throws.
- Taylor netted 14 points, including 10-of-11 shooting from the free throw line.
- White had a season-high nine points.
- Junior Taylor Jungel grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
FOR THE BRITONS
- Rain Hinton came off the bench to post game-highs in points (23) and rebounds (nine).
- Even Wischmeyer was next with 18 points.
- Emily Bernas and Brooke Schutte finished with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
