OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's basketball team dropped a heartbreaking 52-50 decision to Adrian College today at The Cutler Event Center in Olivet.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bulldogs started the game on a 7-2 run before Olivet countered with its own 7-2 run to tie the game at 9-9.
- The teams traded baskets to end the first quarter, resulting in a 13-13 deadlock.
- The Comets opened the second quarter on a 9-3 run to gain their largest lead of the game, 22-16.
- Olivet maintained the lead for the quarter and took a 32-28 lead into the locker rooms at halftime.
- The Comets extended their lead to seven points, 41-34, at the 3:54 mark of the third quarter.
- Olivet led by four points, 45-41, entering the final quarter.
- The Comets continued to hold their lead until Adrian tied the game at 50-50 with 1:34 left in the game.
- Olivet had a chance to go ahead with 55.8 seconds left but missed a pair of free throws.
- The Bulldogs were called for a shot clock violation when they had the ball.
- The Comets brought the ball up into the front court and called a timeout with 12.2 seconds remaining.
- Following the timeout, Olivet turned the ball over on the inbounds pass.
- Sadia Johnson stole the ball and was fouled with 8.4 ticks showing on the clock. She made both free throws to put Adrian up 52-50.
- The Comets did not have a good look at a tying basket.
FOR THE COMETS
- Senior Jillian Nickels finished with a team-best 16 points, including two baskets from behind the arc.
- Senior T'Keyia Collins came off the bench to score a season-high 14 points.
- Freshman Jazmin Hildebrand had seven points and a team-leading seven rebounds.
FOR THE BULLDOGS
- Johnson led all scorers with 22 points.
- Angelina Goosby grabbed a team-best seven rebounds.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Despite the loss, the Comets shot a season-best 48.8 percent (20-of-41) from the floor.
