The Olivet College women’s basketball team was tripped up by Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College, 77-49, this evening at The Cutler Event Center in Olivet.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's basketball team was tripped up by Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College, 77-49, this evening at The Cutler Event Center in Olivet.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Britons scored the first 10 points in the game. The Comets dented the scoreboard for the first time at the midpoint of the opening quarter when senior Kali Hancock drained a three-pointer.
- Albion led 21-8 after one period of play.
- In the second quarter, the Britons extended their lead to 20 points, 32-12.
- Junior Ayren Parrish scored seven straight points to trim the Olivet deficit to 13 points, 32-19. Albion got a three-pointer right before the halftime buzzer to make the score 35-19 at the break.
- The Britons pushed their lead to 18 points, 48-30, with 2:41 remaining in the third quarter.
- Olivet netted seven straight points to get the gap down to 11 points, 48-37, at the 1:34 mark.
- Albion held a 14-points lead, 53-39, entering the final quarter.
- The Britons outscored the Comets by 14 points in the fourth quarter for their 28-point margin of victory.
FOR THE COMETS
- Freshman Jazmin Hildebrand made 7-of-10 baskets, including a three-pointer, and a two free throws for a team-high 17 points.
- Parrish finished with 14 points, while senior Jillian Nickels chipped-in 10 points.
- Senior Katie McKinnon posted team-highs in rebounds (nine) and assists (four).
FOR THE BRITONS
- Albion had three players reach double figures in the scoring column, led by Emily Bernas' 18.
- Erin Nelson and Olivia Savage contributed 16 and 15 points, respectively.
- Evelyn Wischmeyer grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds.
- Savage also dished out a game-best seven assists.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Hildebrand's 17 points were a career-high. Her previous best was 16 points in last Saturday's game at Adrian College.
- Parrish's 14 points equaled her career-high. She previously had 14 points on Jan. 7, 2015, against Alma College and Nov. 16, 2015, against Rochester College.
- McKinnon's nine rebounds tied her career-best. She also pulled down nine rebounds against Calvin College on Jan. 9, 2016.
