HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Quakers outscored the Comets, 16-2, in the first five minutes and 11 seconds of the game.
- Olivet trailed by 12 points, 21-9, at the end of the opening quarter.
- The Comets opened the second quarter on an 11-4 run to trim their deficit down to five points, 25-20.
- Junior Ayren Parrish nailed a three-pointer with 13 seconds left in the second quarter to make the score 35-28 at halftime.
- Wilmington led by as many as 20 points, 55-35, with 3:09 left in the third quarter.
- Olivet scored four of the final six points of the third stanza to close the gap to 18 points, 57-39.
- The Quakers extended their lead to 32 points late in the fourth quarter.
FOR THE COMETS
- For the game, Olivet shot 27.9 percent (19-of-68) from the floor and 83.3 percent (10-of-12) from the free throw line.
- Senior T'Keyia Collins scored a team-best nine points.
- Parrish finished with eight points.
- Freshman Jazmin Hildebrand had a solid debut in a Comet uniform with eight points to go along with a team-leading 10 rebounds.
FOR THE QUAKERS
- Wilmington made 32 baskets, including 12 from behind the three-point arc, and three free throws for its 79 points.
- Mackenzie Campbell led all scorers with 13 points.
- Mary Moyer recorded a double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing a game-high 12 rebounds.
- Samantha Murphy scored 12 points, with four triples.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Tonight's game marked the head coaching debut for Olivet's Zach Ingles.
- The Comets have now played the Quakers five times in school history. Two of the previous games were also the season-opener for Olivet. The other games were on Nov. 29, 1992; Nov. 19, 1993; Nov. 21, 1997; and Nov. 25, 2006.
