Clay Target Finds Success in the South
BROOKS, Ky. – The Universty of Olivet Clay Target team traveled to Brooks, Kentucky, January 26-28, for the ACUI Eastern Conference Championship.
The team was greeted by cold, wet weather throughout the tournament. Despite adverse conditions, the Comets excelled. They were the third-place team in trap behind Hillsdale College and Clemson University; edging out Florida State University, University of Kentucky, University of Alabama and six other colleges and universities from across the country.
Through teamwork and stellar individual performances, The University of Olivet brought home the title of Classic All-Around Champions for their scores in trap, skeet, and sporting clays.
Individuals came home with awards of their own:
- Kaitlin Dyer – Classic All-Around Ladies Champion
- Hope Wright – Classic All-Around Ladies Third-Place
- Matthew Brown and Trevor Klotz – tied for Classic All-Around Men Third-Place, with Brown taking home the title after a tough shoot-off
Olivet is back in action February 24 at the Hillsdale College Invitational. The event takes place at the the John A. Halter Center.
