STUNT team splits two matches at Muskingum
NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Olivet College STUNT team split two morning matches at Muskingum (Ohio) University and inside the Anne C. Steele Center. The Comets defeated the host Muskies, 10-8, before dropping a 10-6 decision to Hiram (Ohio) College.
NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Olivet College STUNT team split two morning matches at Muskingum (Ohio) University and inside the Anne C. Steele Center. The Comets defeated the host Muskies, 10-8, before dropping a 10-6 decision to Hiram (Ohio) College.
Against Muskingum, both schools scored a point in the first quarter in partner stunts. The second quarter saw the Comets take a 4-1 lead in pyramids and tosses. Muskingum outscored Olivet 4-1 in the third quarter in jumps and tumbling to level the score at 5-5. The Comets used a 5-3 edge in the fourth quarter team routines to pull out the 10-8 victory.
The game against Hiram started out the same as the first game, with a 1-1 tie at the end of the first quarter. The Terriers scored two of three points in the second quarter to take a 3-2 lead at halftime. Hiram stretched its lead to 5-2 with two points in the third quarter. A 5-4 Terrier advantage in the fourth quarter created the final 10-6 score.
The Comets close out their season Sunday, April 24, when they host Alma College and Muskingum. The first game will start at 12:30 p.m. from the Cutler Event Center in Olivet.
