Men’s Cross Country: Davis finishes second at Comet Open

CHARLOTTE, Mich. – Senior Chris Davis finished second to lead The University of Olivet men's cross country team at its season-opening meet, the Comet Open at the Broadway Acres Golf Course in nearby Charlotte. The unscored meet featured three fellow NCAA members – Adrian College, Albion College and Hope College, as well five members of the National Junior College Athletic Association – Jackson College, Kellogg Community College, Lake Michigan College, Lansing Community College (LCC) and Southwestern Michigan Community College, and two NAIA institutions – Cleary University and Concordia University-Ann Arbor.

- Davis completed the 5K race in 15 minutes, 39 seconds. The only runner to finish ahead of him was Michael Dennis from LCC. There were 113 runners in the men's race.
- Senior Hunter Hillard was 13th with a time of 16 minutes, 22.2 seconds.
- Senior Hayden Germain posted a time of 17 minutes, 15.5 seconds.
- Freshman Deegan Bodell ran the race in 17 minutes, 59.1 seconds, for his first collegiate cross country race.
- Sophomore Anthony DeVito had a time of 18 minutes, 15.8 seconds.
- The Comets next compete at the Michigan State Spartan Invitational on Friday, September 15.
