Cross country teams receive academic honors from USTFCCCA
The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams have received All-Academic Team honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. In addition, junior Bruce Baker was named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic team.
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams have received All-Academic Team honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). In addition, junior Bruce Baker was named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic team.
To earn this honor, teams must have had a team cumulative team grade point average (GPA) of 3.10 or higher for the fall semester. Under the tutelage of head coach Karen Lutze, the Comet women posted a team cumulative GPA of 3.57 and the men recorded a cumulative GPA of 3.40. Both teams are receiving this honor for a sixth straight year.
To be named to the individual All-Academic team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and finish in the top 25 percent at their respective regional. Baker carries a 3.78 GPA in business administration with marketing concentration and placed 37th of 249 runners at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional.
