Cross country teams finish sixth and eighth at MIAA Championships

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams placed sixth and eighth at the 2016 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships. Albion College hosted the championships at the Tomac Woods Golf Course in Albion. At the conclusion of the championships, it was announced junior Bruce Baker earned second-team All-MIAA honors.

FOR THE COMET MEN (8K RUN)

• The Comet men totaled 157 points to finish ahead of Kalamazoo College, 184; and Alma College, 195. Calvin College won the championship with 27 points.
• Baker finished in sixth-place with a time of 26:10.2.
• Senior Connor Bauserman was 15th with a time of 26:50.4.
• Senior Blake Wilson crossed the finish line in 28:40.9.0

FOR THE COMET WOMEN (6K RUN)

• The Olivet women had 224 points to finish ahead of Kalamazoo's 264 points.
• Senior Allyson Schultz was 28th with a time of 24:37.1.
• Junior Nicole Zerfas finished in 25:54.1.
• Senior Brianna Wiles completed the race in 27:02.4.
