Men’s cross country team places sixth at MIAA Championships
The Olivet College men’s cross country team placed sixth at the 2015 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Jamboree, hosted by Olivet today at the Broadway Acres Golf Course in Charlotte.
CHARLOTTE, Mich. – The Olivet College men's cross country team placed sixth at the 2015 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Jamboree, hosted by Olivet today at the Broadway Acres Golf Course in Charlotte.
The men finished with 154 points, 34 ahead of Kalamazoo College and 37 in front of Alma College. Calvin College won the championship with 20 points. Hope College placed second with 55 points, followed by Trine (Ind.) University, 99; Albion College, 111; and Adrian College, 151.
Senior Nicholas Roberge-Ferris was the men's top finisher, as he completed the 8K course in 26:31.5 to place 20th. Sophomore Bruce Baker was a little less than seven seconds behind in 24th-place with a time of 26:38.3. Junior Connor Bauserman was next at 27:08.5, followed by sophomore Mark Smith at 27:22.4 and junior Blake Wilson at 27:39.2.
Olivet is off for two weeks and return to competition Saturday, Nov. 21, at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Meet. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Ind.) is the host school.
