Cross country teams compete at Lansing CC Invitational
The Olivet College men’s and women’s cross country teams competed today at the Lansing Community College Invitational, held at Grand Woods Park in Lansing.
LANSING, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams competed today at the Lansing Community College Invitational, held at Grand Woods Park in Lansing. The men totaled 114 points to finish in fourth-place, while the women had 242 points to place 10th.
Sophomore Bruce Baker paced the Comet men, as he finished the 8K course in eighth-place with a time of 26:34.0. Senior Nicholas Roberge-Ferris and junior Connor Bauserman finished 1.8 seconds apart in 16th (26:55.5) and 17th (26:57.3), respectively. Sophomore Mark Smith was 27th with a time of 27:18.4. Senior Tyler Britten completed the race in 28:18.8.
Junior Allyson Schultz was the first Olivet women's runner to cross the finish line. She placed 19th with a time of 19:43.5 in the 5K race. Freshman Nicole Sebok finished 44th in 20:42.1, while freshman Jessica Taylor was the next Comet to finish in 21:26.5.
The Comets will next compete Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Inter-Regional Rumble, hosted by Oberlin (Ohio) College. The women's 6K race will start at 11 a.m., followed by the men's 8K race at approximately 11:45 a.m.
