Cross country teams run at Calvin Knight Invitational
The Olivet College men’s and women’s cross country teams ran this morning at the Calvin College Knight Invitational. The races were at the Gainey Athletic Complex in Grand Rapids. The Comet men placed 19th of 28 teams, while the women were 24th.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams ran this morning at the Calvin College Knight Invitational. The races were at the Gainey Athletic Complex in Grand Rapids. The Comet men placed 19th of 28 teams, while the women were 24th.
Sophomore Bruce Baker was the first men's runner to finish the race, as he crossed the line in 27 minutes and four seconds. Senior Nicholas Roberge-Ferris was next at 27:48.2, followed by juniorConnor Bauserman, 28:02.2; junior Blake Wilson, 28:12.3; and senior Tyler Britten, 29:05.8.
Senior Danielle Marsh clocked-in with the top time for the women's team at 21:08.3. FreshmanJessica Taylor finished a little more than 10 seconds later at 21:18.7, followed by freshman Nicole Sebok, 21:21.3; freshman Abigail Gaines, 22:10.4; and freshman Zoe Feighner, 22:14.2.
Olivet is off for two weeks and will compete Sept. 26 at the 2015 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree. Hope College is the host, and the meet will be at the West Ottawa Golf Club in Holland.
