Cross country: Olivet ends season at NCAA Regional
The Olivet College men’s and women’s cross country teams ended their seasons today by running at the 2014 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Meet.
MASON, Ohio – The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams ended their seasons today by running at the 2014 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Meet. Wilmington College hosted the meet at the Golf Center at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio.
The Comet men's team in 20th-place out of 37 schools, finishing ahead MIAA rivals Alma, Albion and Kalamazoo colleges. Senior Greg Lutzke was Olivet's top runner, as he was 64th of 245 runners with a time of 25:37.1 on the 8K course.
Senior Andrew Benkovsky was next to cross the line at 26:02.8 to finish in 97th-place. JuniorNicholas Roberge-Ferris placed 124th with a time of 26:33.2, followed by sophomore Blake Wilson, 26:50.9; freshman Bruce Baker, 27:16.4; and junior Tyler Britten, 27:51.5.
The women's team finished in 31st-place of 35 schools. Junior Jessica D'Haene was the 107th women's runner to finish the 6K race in 24:00.6. Sophomore Allyson Schultz was next in 24:58.9, followed by freshman Kaitlin Stults, 26:04.7; senior Milie Funk, 26:38.4; junior Danielle Marsh, 26:42.6; freshman Shayla Neelis, 27:01.9; and senior Susie Quint, 29:51.9.
