Cross country: Olivet takes part in Inter-Regional Rumble
The Olivet College men’s and women’s cross country teams took part in the 2014 Inter-Regional Rumble, hosted by Oberlin (Ohio) College.
OBERLIN, Ohio – The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams took part in the 2014 Inter-Regional Rumble, hosted by Oberlin (Ohio) College.
The men's team placed 20th of 34 schools. Senior Greg Lutzke was Olivet's first finisher, as he completed the 8K course in 26:53.2 to finish in 87th-place of 291 runners. Senior Andrew Benkovsky was next to cross the line in 27:13.7, followed by junior Nicholas Roberge-Ferris, 27:38.3; sophomore Blake Wilson, 28:21.5; senior Jalen Weaver, 28:34.9 and junior Tyler Britten, 28:51.6.
The women's team finished in 34th-place of 40 schools. Junior Jessica D'Haene was the Comets' top finisher. She covered the 6K course in 24:50.7. Sophomore Jacklyn Yates was the next finisher in 26:23.6, followed by freshman Kaitlin Stults, 27:24.1; junior Danielle Marsh, 27:54.3; and senior Milie Funk, 28:07.2.
Olivet returns to competition Saturday, Nov. 1 at the 2014 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships. Calvin College is hosting the championships at the Gainey Athletic Complex in Grand Rapids.
