Cross country: Comets compete at Lansing CC Invitational
The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams ran today at the Lansing Community College Invitational at Grand Woods Park in Lansing. The Comet men totaled 233 points to finish in 7th-place (of 20 schools), while the women had 358 points to finish 12th (of 19 schools).
LANSING, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams ran today at the Lansing Community College Invitational at Grand Woods Park in Lansing. The Comet men totaled 233 points to finish in 7th-place (of 20 schools), while the women had 358 points to finish 12th (of 19 schools).
The Olivet women were led by junior Jessica D'Haene. She placed 37th of 181 runners with a time of 20:20.7. Junior Danielle Marsh and freshman Kaitlin Stults was 95th and 98th with times of 22:01.3 and 22:03.8, respectively. Sophomore Jacklyn Yates crossed the line in 22:09.2.
Senior Greg Lutzke paced the Comet men, as he finished in 38th-place of 197 runners with a time of 27:09.8. Senior Andrew Benkovsky was not far behind in 42nd-place with a time of 27:17.7. Senior Jalen Weaver was next in 59th-place, 27:55.0. Sophomore Blake Wilson and freshman Bruce Baker completed the race in 28:06.2 and 28:20.5, respectively.
Olivet is off until Saturday, Oct. 18, when it participates in the Inter-Regional Rumble at Oberlin (Ohio) College. The men's 8K race starts at 11 a.m., followed by the women's 6K race at 11:45 a.m.
