Men’s volleyball team drops four-set match at Siena Heights
ADRIAN, Mich. – The Olivet College men’s volleyball team fell to Siena Heights University in four sets tonight on Coach Smith Court and inside the SHU Fieldhouse. After the Saints won the first set, 25-14, the Comets evened the match with a 25-21 win in the second set. Siena Heights came back with 25-21 and 25-20 wins in the third and fourth sets, respectively.

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Olivet College men's volleyball team fell to Siena Heights University in four sets tonight on Coach Smith Court and inside the SHU Fieldhouse. After the Saints won the first set, 25-14, the Comets evened the match with a 25-21 win in the second set. Siena Heights came back with 25-21 and 25-20 wins in the third and fourth sets, respectively.

- In the first set, the Saints scored the first four points and never looked back. The 11-point margin of victory, 25-14, was their largest advantage in the set.
- The teams traded the first 10 points of the second set to cause five tied scores. Following a 5-5 deadlock, Siena Heights went on 5-1 run to go up 10-6. The Comets answered with their own 5-1 to take the lead back. There were then four lead changes and six tied scores. After a 17-17 tie, Olivet scored back-to-back points on a kill and double block at the net. The Comets did not surrender the lead for the rest of the set.
- The third set was like the second set. Neither team was able to go ahead by more than two points until the Saints seized a 19-16 lead. Siena Heights rode that momentum into a 25-21 win for the third set.
- In the fourth set, Olivet gained a three-point cushion at 9-6. The Saints answered with a 6-1 run for a 12-10 lead. After the Comets scored the next point, Siena Heights used a 4-1 spurt to take control of the set and lead by four points, 16-12. The Saints went on to win the set by a 25-20 score to close out the match.
- Junior Kai Hartman recorded a team-high seven kills and 10 digs.
- Junior Will Mensching was next with six kills, followed by sophomores Quinn Dickerson and Ethan Valente with five apiece.
- Junior Everett Haynes tallied 22 set assists and four kills.
- Mensching and senior Dakota Galeazzi each finished with eight digs.
- Dickerson had six blocks (three solo and three assisted).
- Rasi Bailey slammed down 11 kills with no errors on 17 attempts for a .647 attack percentage.
- Jakob Pickett registered 10 kills.
- Zak Tucker had 38 set assists and 10 digs.
- Jacob Kisner led all players with 12 digs.
- The Comets head to Elgin, Illinois, Friday and Saturday for the Judson University Tournament. Olivet plays back-to-back-to-back matches on Friday against Maranatha Baptist (Wis.) University, the host Eagles and Roosevelt (Ill.) University, starting at 12 p.m. ET. The Comets then play Cornerstone University Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
