Fremeau selected MIAA Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – For the second straight week, The University of Olivet freshman Owen Fremeau has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
At the Alma College Triangular, Fremeau claimed the top spot in the discus throw (151 feet, 6 inches) and hammer throw (159 feet, 4 inches), and was third in the shot put (42 feet, 4-1/4 inches). The performance in the hammer ranks second all-time in school history and is also currently second in the MIAA.
"Owen continues to make improvements in his throwing events every week," said Olivet head coach Karen Lutzke. "He really enjoys being in a competitive environment and pushing himself to perform to reach his best marks. The future is bright for Owen and we are looking forward to watching him develop every meet."
Fremeau and the Comets return to action Saturday when they host the Comet Triangular.
