Men’s Track & Field: Brown and Chandler earn All-American honors at 2024 NCAA Division III Championships
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Senior Jordon Brown and freshman DeVondre Chandler from The University of Olivet are the newest NCAA All-Americans in school history following their performances today at the 2024 Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Chandler finished sixth in the high jump, clearing the bar at 2.04 meters (6 feet and 8-1/4 inches). The mark matched his own school record. He was one of eight student-athletes to get over the bar at 2.04 meters. The number of misses on previous heights slotted Chandler into the sixth spot.
Brown placed eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.83 seconds.
Brown and Chandler are the third and fourth NCAA Indoor All-Americans in school history. The other two were Jalen Weaver, who was sixth in the 800-meter run in 2015 and Conner Bauserman who was seventh in the 800-meter run in 2017. In 2020, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association declared All-American status to anyone who qualified but could not compete at the national championships due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
