Five event winners help men’s track and field team place second at Albion Triangular

ALBION, Mich. – Five individual event winners helped the Olivet College men’s track and field team score 193 points and finish in second at the 2023 Albion College Triangular today at Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium. The Comets competed against the host Britons and Alma College.

ALBION, Mich. – Five individual event winners helped the Olivet College men's track and field team score 193 points and finish in second at the 2023 Albion College Triangular today at Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium. The Comets competed against the host Britons and Alma College.

  • Senior Chase Mendham was a double winner, as he took first in the 800-meter run (2:00.38) and mile run (4:27.25). The time in the 800 was a personal best by exactly three seconds.
  • Senior Chris Davis won the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:30.92.
  • Running the 3,000-meter steeplechase for the first time in his career, junior Hayden Germain crossed the finish line first in 10:20.91.
  • Senior Byron Pearce was first in the discus throw with a personal best 144 foot mark.

  • The Comets head to Adrian for the Siena Heights University / Don Kleinow Invitational next Friday, April 14.
