Men’s indoor track & field competes at SVSU Tune-Up

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Olivet College men's indoor track and field team participated in the Saginaw Valley State University Tune-Up today inside the SVSU Fieldhouse.
- In a field of 27 runners, junior Chris Davis was fourth in the mile run, finishing in a season-best time of 4:17.13. The time is a school record, as it converts to 4:20.43 due to the size of SVSU's track.
- Junior Charles Miller matched his personal-best with a time of 7.26 seconds in the 60-meter dash and 23.36 seconds in the 200-meter dash.
- Each of the four Comets in the weight throw posted personal-best performances. Senior Byron Pearce placed fourth with a mark of 15.52 meters. The other three were by junior David Sinkler (13.28 meters), junior Zach Liddle (10.10 meters) and sophomore Aaron Garcia (9.63 meters).
- Senior John C Downey ran a personal-best time of 9.34 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles.
- Junior Robert Reynolds had a personal-best mark of 12.57 meters in the shot put.
- Sophomore Jackson Arkles finished the 800-mter run in a personal-best time of 2:11.86.
- Posting a season-best performance were:
- Freshman Mason Brecht in the 60-meter dash (7.44), 200-meter dash (24.37) and 400-meter dash (54.07)
- Freshman Anthony DeVito in the mile run (4:48.58)
- Sophomore Noah Feudi in the 800-meter run (2:00.00)
- The 2023 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Indoor Track & Field Championships are next Saturday, February 25. Trine (Ind.) University is the host school. Field events start at 11 a.m., followed by running events at 12:30 p.m.
