Men’s track & field: Olivet in sixth-place at MIAA Field Day
The Olivet College men’s track & field team is in sixth-place after day one of the 124th Annual MIAA Field Day, held at Albion College.
ALBION, Mich. – The Olivet College men's track & field team is in sixth-place after day one of the 124th Annual Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Field Day, held at Albion College.
The men totaled eight points with a fourth- and sixth-place finish in two different field events. Calvin College tops the field with 70 points, followed by Trine (Ind.) University, 45; Adrian College, 31; Hope College, 30; and Albion, 11.
Freshman Drew Miller posted the best performance for the Comets, as he placed fourth in the shot put with a 44 feet and 6-3/4 inch toss. Junior Travon Tatum finished in sixth-place in the long jump with a 20 feet and 9-1/4 inch leap.
Junior Connor Bauserman and senior Jalen Weaver both won their preliminary heat of the 800-meter run to qualify for tomorrow's finals. Bauserman had the fastest prelim time at 1:54.81, while Weaver had the third-fastest at 1:56.61.
Finals in four additional field events start tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. Finals in all of the running events will begin at 1:30 p.m.
