ANGOLA, Ind. – Playing its first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association match in more than 20 years, the Olivet College men's tennis team fell to Trine (Ind.) University, 9-0, today inside the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center in Angola, Indiana.
Playing with only four players, the Comets were forced to default the last two singles matches and the third doubles match. At No. 2 doubles, freshmen Jacob Richards and Anthony Hinojosa dropped an 8-2 pro-set. In singles play, freshman Max Grabel lost in straight sets 6-3, 6-1.
Olivet returns to the courts tomorrow when they host Adrian College. The match from the Minges Creek Athletic Club in Battle Creek will start at approximately 2:30 p.m.
