Swimming & diving teams dive in at day one of MIAA Championships
Day one of the 2017 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships is in the books for the Olivet College men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams.

HOLLAND, Mich. – Day one of the 2017 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships is in the books for the Olivet College men's and women's swimming & diving teams.
FOR THE MEN
- The only final in tonight's events was the 800 freestyle relay, and the quartet of freshmen Eric Wood and Zach Meharg, sophomore Bryan Plesner and senior Zak Gray placed fifth with a time of 7:44.29.
- The preliminaries of the one-meter diving took place, and freshman Dalton Miner and senior Bryce Prudden failed to advance to tomorrow's finals, scoring 348.15 and 340.20 points, respectively.
FOR THE WOMEN
- In tonight's only final, the 800 freestyle relay, the team of sophomores Sabrina Butler, Samantha Butler, Delaney Graham and freshman Amelia Tomalka was sixth with a time of 8:54.79.
UP NEXT
- Day two of the championships at the Holland Aquatic Center tomorrow starts with preliminaries at 10 a.m., and finals in the same events at 5:30 p.m. Events on day two include the 200 freestyle relay, 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle and 400 medley relay, as well as finals for men's one-meter diving and prelims and finals for women's three-meter diving.
