OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's swimming & diving teams lost to Hope College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association dual meets this afternoon at the Upton Center Pool in Olivet.
THE RESULTS
- Men – Hope def. Olivet 137-93
- Women – Hope def. Olivet 155-49
FOR THE MEN
- Freshman Justin Maidlow won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.17 seconds. He also placed second in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:10.72.
- Freshman Eric Wood took first-place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.34 and second-place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:18.98.
- Freshman Lucas Bunn was second in the 50-yard freestyle, 23.71 seconds; and 100-yard freestyle, 50.90 seconds.
- Freshman Gabe Collins placed second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time 59.14 seconds.
- Freshman Zach Meharg was the runner-up in the 1,650-yard freestyle in 18:40.61.
- The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Bunn, Wood, Collins and Maidlow touched the wall first in 1:32.78.
- The 200-yard medley relay quartet of sophomore Kody Garcia, Maidlow, Collins and Bunn finished second in 1:49.15.
FOR THE WOMEN
- Sophomore Sabrina Butler placed second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:09.79.
- Sophomore Delaney Graham touched the wall second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:56.17.
- Freshman Katie Hansel was second in 50-yard freestyle at 27.96 seconds.
- Freshman Amelia Tomalka finished as the runner-up in the 100-yard freestyle with a time 58.31 seconds.
- The aforementioned four women's swimmers combined for a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:47.75.
- Freshman Abbie Slater scored 187.90 points on the three-meter diving board to finish in second-place.
UP NEXT
- Olivet is now off until Thursday-Saturday, Dec. 1-3, when it competes at the Carthage College Winter Classic in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
