Swimming & diving teams end dual meet schedule with losses at Albion
The Olivet College men's and women's swimming & diving teams closed out its dual meet schedules with losses to Albion College tonight at the Dean Aquatic Center in Albion. The men’s team was defeated by the Britons, 100-53, and the women lost 119-60.
ALBION, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's swimming & diving teams closed out its dual meet schedules with losses to Albion College tonight at the Dean Aquatic Center in Albion. The men's team was defeated by the Britons, 100-53, and the women lost 119-60.
For the women, freshman Taylor Tibbetts placed second in the 100-yard freestyle and 50-yard butterfly. She equaled her season-best time at 58.02 seconds in the fly and posted a season-best time of 27.44 seconds in the fly.
Sophomore Emma Cole swam to a season-best time of 28.25 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle. Senior Leah Lupu completed the 200-yard individual in a season-best time of 2:34.07.
The 200-yard freestyle relay quartet of freshmen Sabrina Butler and Delaney Graham, seniorMegan Dossey and Tibbetts was second to touch the wall in 1:48.77.
For the men, freshman Bryan Plesner was the second swimmer to touch the wall in the 400-yard individual medley, clocking-in at 4:43.34. He also had a season-best time of 5:07.06 in the 500-yard freestyle.
Olivet now turns its attention to the 2016 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships Wednesday-Saturday, Feb. 17-20. Calvin College is hosting the championships at the Venema Aquatic Center in Grand Rapids.
