Swimming & diving teams lose to Calvin in season-opening dual meets
The Olivet College men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams lost season-opening Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) dual meets against Calvin College.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's swimming & diving teams lost season-opening Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) dual meets against Calvin College today at the Venema Aquatic Center in Grand Rapids. The men fell by a 234-37 score, while the women suffered a 244-38 loss.
For the men, senior Taylor Howard was the first swimmer to touch the wall in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.41. He also had the second-fastest time in the 200-yard individual medley at 2:05.08.
For the women, sophomore Emma Cole won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:29.77. The time was more than 30 seconds faster than the runner-up finisher.
The Comets will travel to Tiffin, Ohio, next Saturday, Nov. 7, for non-conference dual meets against Tiffin University and Hillsdale College.
