Men’s soccer team ends season with 5-0 loss to Trine in MIAA Tournament first round
ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College men’s soccer team closed out the 2020-21 season with a 5-0 loss to Trine (Ind.) University in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Tournament first round this afternoon at Weaver Field.

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College men's soccer team closed out the 2020-21 season with a 5-0 loss to Trine (Ind.) University in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Tournament first round this afternoon at Weaver Field.

Location: Weaver Field; Angola, Indiana
Records: Olivet 2-3-0 overall, Trine 10-4 overall
- The Thunder led 3-0 at halftime behind goals in the third, 21st and 44th minutes.
- Trine capped its scoring with goals in the 73rd and 78th minutes. The goal in the 73rd minute was a penalty kick.
- Olivet totaled six shots in the game, two for senior Dean Failer and one each for five different players. All six shots were also placed on-frame.
- Recording the single shots were freshman Matt Rach, senior Joshua Rosendale, and sophomores Coda Mendoza and Andrew Waller.
- Junior Andrew Aragon and freshman Carlos Santos split time in goal. Aragon was the net minder for the first half, and allowed the first three goals on 14 shots, while making six saves. Santos played in goal for the second half, and gave up the two goals on 17 shots, while collecting eight saves.
- Five players – Jared Cornwell, Tyler Murphy, Brian Morris, Alahasan Yahya and Abraham Antar – scored a goal.
- Assists were credited to Murphy, Morris, Alhusain Yahya and Conner Malmquist.
- Trevor Towghi tallied a team-best seven shots, including five on-goal.
